JWL SPOTLIGHT

JWL Spotlight shares game stats and tracking data for the players of the Japan Winter League, so that scouts and coaches can discover each player's strengths even without being at the ballpark.

HOW TO READ

Percentile

Where a player stands among JWL players in the same season and role who meet the minimum sample (0–100). 50 is the middle; higher is better.

参考（n=…） / Reference

Based on a small number of innings, plate appearances, swings or tracked fastballs, so the number can still move a lot. It is not a verdict on ability.

Small sample

The minimum sample is not met yet, so no rank is shown. The measured value is still available.

Rankings

Ranked by tracked values (velocity, movement, exit velocity, bat speed, etc.) and tracked rates such as CSW%, Whiff% and Chase%, with the top 10 shown by league. Rates only include players who meet a minimum sample (pitches, swings, etc.). Outcome rates such as ERA and AVG are not used.

METRICS

Pitching

CSW%
Whiff%
Chase%

Hitting

Whiff%↓
Z-Contact%

COMPARING SEASONS

Because the tracking systems differ by season and league, speeds, spin and movement cannot be compared directly across seasons. JWL averages and percentiles always compare players within the same season (and, in 2025, the same league).
